Comment (Deposit): GOLD-BEARING GRAVELS LIE UNDER SOIL AND CEMENTED GRAVELS AT DEPTHS OF 1 TO 16 FT. THE PAY GRAVEL WAS 1 TO 6 FT THICK. THE SOURCE OF GOLD IS PROBABLY THE NEARBY MARICOPA AND PHOENIX MINES WHERE GOLD-QUARTZ VEINS OCCUR ALTERED PREC SCHIST.

Comment (Location): UTM'S AT BORDER OF CAVE CREEK AND NEW RIVER MESA QUADS, ALONG CAVE CREEK, SECTION 8. PLACERS ARE ALL ALONG CAVE CREEK NORTH AND SOUTH OF SECTION 8. ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1964)

Comment (Production): GROUND VALUES AVERAGED $.85 TO $5.10 PER CUBIC YARD (1910). PRODUCTION WAS ALSO REPORTED FROM THE PLACER IN 1932.
