Comment (Geology): IN THE OXIDIZED ZONE, THESE CAVITIES ARE MORE OR LESS FILLED WITH IRON OXIDE THAT CONTAINS VISIBLE FREE GOLD. WHERE OXIDATION HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETE, GOLD-BEARING PYRITE IS RELATIVELY ABUNDANT, PARTICULARLY NEAR THE WALLS OF THE VEIN
