Comment (Deposit): COMPRISES 1700 ACRES, INCLUDING THE KATE HAYES, ESPERANCE, FRASER AND ALEXANDER, BEDROCK TUNNEL, AND MILTON PLACER MINES.
Comment (Production): ABOUT ONE-THIRD OF A MILE OF CHANNEL HAD BEEN WORKED RESULTING IN AN EXCAVATION WITH BOTTOM GRAVEL REMAINING OF ABOUT 1,200,000 CU. YDS. TESTS OF WHICH IN 1938 INDICATED AVERAGE VALUE OF 41.4% CU. YD. IT WAS EXPECTED TO EXPOSE AN ADDITIONAL 2,400,000 CUBIC YARDS OF GRAVEL THAT WOULD SHOW A PROFIT IF WORKED BY MECHANICAL METHODS. SMITH HAD NOT BEGUN WORK IN 1945.
