Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: ORE LIES IN THICK BELT, 100 TO 500 FT. THICK, WHICH INCLUDES MASSIVE WHITE AND RED CHERT, BEDDED WHITE AND RED CHERT WITH SHALE PARTINGS, AND GREENISH CHERTS, ALL CUT BY QUARTZ VEINS, AND SOME STAINED BY MANGANESE. CHERTS STRIKE N 20 W TO N - S, DIP 40 TO 80 NE. ORE IS MAINLY RHODONITE BEDS, 6 INCHES TO 2 FT. THICK, COATED WITH BLACK MANGANESE OXIDES, CONTAINING A FEW POCKETS AND VEINS OF OXIDE. MASSIVE BROWN MANGANESE CARBONATE AND SOME NEOTOCITE OVERLIES THE RHODONITE.
