Comment (Location): AT CANYON CITY

Comment (Workings): A STRIP OF GROUND HALF A MILE LONG AND SEVERAL HUNDRED FEET WIDE WAS WORKED IN EARLY DAYS. IN 1941, A 200 FOOT TUNNEL WAS DRIVEN IN THE CONSOLIDATED GRAVELS WITH NO RECORD OF PRODUCTION.

Comment (Geology): GULCH PLACERS ON THE WEST SIDE OF TOWN ARE BELIEVED TO BE DERIVED FROM REWORKED OLDER GRAVEL DEPOSITS. ; GEOL.DESC: SEDIMENTS ARE CEMENTED STREAM GRAVELS
