Comment (Geology): AT BOTTOM OF STOPING, ORE IS CUT OFF, NEAR THIS POINT ORE IS SURROUNDED BY CLAY NODULES, SUGGESTING A FAULT. ; GEOL.DESC: COUNTRY ROCK OF TERTIARY VOLCANIC FLOWS AND FRAGMENTAL ROCKS ARE CUT BY FISSURES THAT TREND APPROXIMATELY NORTH AND DIP STEEPLY W. IN PLACES THE VOLCANIC ROCKS ARE BRECCIATED FOR A SHORT DISTANCE ON THE SIDES OF THE FISSURES. SEVERAL SETS OF FISSURES ARE PRESENT, ONE EXTENDS FOR 4000 FT. ACROSS THE AREA. ORE IS FOUND IN SHOOTS UP TO 400 FT. IN LENGTH AND 5 FT. IN WIDTH. ORE OCCURS IN WELL DEFINED VEINS CUTTING QUARTZ PORPHYRY, AND CONSISTS MAINLY OF MASSIVE PSILOMELANE, SOME PYROLUSITE, CALCITE AND ROCK FRAGMENTS.
