Comments

Comment (Location): ELEVATION IS APPROXIMATE. AT EAST END OF COPPER WORLD CLAIM (RECORD NO. M056533); EAST SIDE PALMER MTN.

Comment (Commodity): PRODUCTION OF AN UNKNOWN QUANITY PRIOR TO 1911; PRODUCTION IN 1918-1919. THERE COULD BE CONSIDERABLE RESOURCES BETWEEN THE 200 AND 300 FT LEVELS AND EVEN BELOW 300 FT IF THE ORE COULD BE TRACED. TOTAL SIZE OF CLAIMS ABOUT 160 ACRES.

Comment (Development): SHAFT AND DRIFTS; 5000 FT RIBLET AERIAL TRAMWAY, CAPACITY OF 400 TONS/DAY, COMPLETED IN 1919; EXPLORATION IN 1967-1968.

Comment (Geology): NEAR THE ORE THE WALL ROCK IS BADLY METAMORPHOSED BY INTENSE SHEARING ACTION THAT HAS DEVELOPED SERPENTINE AND TALC AND IN PLACES CONVERTED THE ROCK DIRECTLY INTO A SCHIST. THIS ALTERED ANDESITE OFTEN OCCURS AS A HORSE TWO TO FIVE FT THICK SEPARATING TWO OVERLAPPING PARALLEL LENSES OF ORE. ; GEOL.DESC: SERIES OF OVERLAPPING TABULAR LENSES OF SOLID PYRITE AND CHALCOPYRITE

Comment (Deposit): 11 PATENTED CLAIMS: HOMESTAKE, CAYLOR, IRON MASK, THREE LINKS, RAINY DAY, 20TH CENTURY, COLUMBUS, ANACONDA, AND LOTTIE. MINE MAPS AT WASH. DMG.

Comment (Deposit): A FINE-GRAINED MASS OF AN INTERGROWN NATURAL SULPHIDE MATTE, WHICH IS FOUND IN A SERIES OF O ERLAPPING TABULAR MASSES; THE LARGER LENSES MEASURE SEVERAL HUNDRED TONS OF ORE EACH.

Comment (Workings): 300 FT VERTICAL SHAFT WITH LEVELS AT 100 FT INTERVALS. A CROSSCUT AT THE 100 FT LEVEL PICKS UP THE ORE BODY 18 FT FROM THE SHAFT, WHERE AN EXPLORATORY DRIFT IS CARRIED ON FOR 60 FT FURTHER. AT THE 200 FT LEVEL THE ORE WAS PICKED UP 135 FT SW OF THE SHAFT, AND FOLLOWED BY INCLINED RAISES TO THE 100 FT LEVEL. THERE IS ABOUT 700 FT OF DRIFTING AND CROSSCUTTING ON THE 200 FT LEVEL. AT THE 300 FT LEVEL A CROSSCUT WAS RUN 574 FT TO THE SW WITHOUT ENCOUNTERING THE ORE (A QUICK GRAPHIC SOLUTION SUGGESTS THAT THE ORE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ENCOUNTERED BETWEEN 255 AND 300 FT, THE CROSSCUT MUST NOT GO SW OR THE ORE PINCHES OUT BETWEEN THE 200 AND 300 FT LEVELS). PERHAPS WINZING DOWN FROM THE 200 FT LEVEL WOULD BE THE NEXT APPROPRIATE ACTION.
