Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comment (Development): IN 1902, A 10-STAMP AMALGAMATION MILL WAS BUILT NEAR THE LOWEST ADIT, AND WAS LATER CLOSED DUE TO ITS INACCESSIBILITY. ABOUT $120,000 WORTH OF ORE WAS RECOVERED IN 1902-1903 PRIOR TO ITS CLOSURE.
Comment (Deposit): FISSURE VEIN, WITH QUARTZITE SHEETED PARALLEL TO VEIN.
Comment (Geology): THE QUARTZITE IS SHEETED PARALLEL TO THE VEIN, AND LOCALLY STRATIFICATION PARALLELS THE VEIN, ORE SAID TO CARRY SEVERAL DOLLARS TO THE TON (1910.) A LARGE PROPORTION OF WHICH IS FREE. THE LODE IS DISPLACED BY TWO N.E. TRENDING FAULTS WHICH CAUSE 30 TO 60 FEET OF OFFSET.
