MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments

Comment (Deposit): Discovery Year: 1870'S

Comment (Deposit): SCHEELITE-BEARING TACTITE; PIPE-LIKE REPLACEMENTS IN MARBELIZED LIMESTONE ALONG DIKES & AT FAULT INTERSECTIONS

Comment (Development): ORE WAS FIRST TREATED AT A SMALL SMELTER ERECTED AT BULLION CITY. PRODUCTION CONTINUED FROM 1870'S UNTIL 1887, WHEN IT CEASED, TO RESUME AGAIN IN 1905 UNDER THE NEVADA-BUNKER HILL MINING CO., WHO DEVELOPED THE MINE WITH TENS OF THOUSANDS OF FEET OF WORKINGS. DEVELOPMENT CONTINUED AT LEAST UNTIL 1959.

Comment (Production): LARGEST OREBODY YIELDED 50,000 TONS OF OXIDIZED ORE, CONTAINING 18.2% PB; 5.2% CU; 19 OZ/TON AG. ORE ALSO CONTAINED SOME ZINC, GOLD, AND TUNGSTEN.

Comment (Location): W. OF TRIPOLI MINE

Comment (Deposit): INTERSECTIONS WITH FAULTS. THE LARGEST MASS WAS 50' IN. DIAMETER AND EXTENDED VERTICALLY FOR C. 400'-YIELDED 50,000 TONS OF OXIDIZED ORE=18.2% LEAD, 5.4% COPPER, AND 19 OZ OF SILVER PER TON. THE MINE ORIGINALLY OPENED ON 7 LEVELS WITH THE 'LOW LEVEL' ADIT (DAVIS TUNNEL) THE MAIN ACCESS. THE PROPERTY WAS OPERATED DURING THE 1930'S AS THE ALADDIN MINES CO., BUT WAS LATER OPERATED BY THE NEVADA BUNKER HILL MINING CO., AND THE LEAD AND COPPER MINES., INC. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT

Comment (Workings): SEVEN LEVELS ORIGINALLY;

Comment (Geology): SCHEELITE-BEARING TACTITE 2'-3' WIDE IN DAVIS TUNNEL 3000' FROM PORTAL

Comment (Deposit): THE STANDING ELLS AND HOFFMAN CLAIM (ALLADIN, NEVADA BUNKER HILL) MINE WAS AN 1870'S DISCOVERY, WITH ITS ORES GEING TREATED IN A SMALL SMEELTER ERECTED AT RULLING CITY. PRODUCTION CONTINUED UNTIL 1887, THEN CEASED UNTIL 1905 WHEN THE NEVADA BUNKER HILL MINING CO. CONSOLIDATED THIS, AND SEVERAL OTHER PROPERTIES (RED BIRD, TRIPOLI), AND 2 LOW LEVEL ADITS WERE BEGUN AT THE NEW CAMP OF BULLION, TO EXPLORE THE DOWNWARD EXTENSION OF THE ORE BODIES. THE DAVIS-TUNNEL WAS TO EXPLORE THE STANDING ELLS ORE BODY-EXTENDED 6,040'-THIS TARGET WAS REACHED IN 1959, BUT NO ORE WAS FOUND. THE AFTER ADIT-THE WEBFOOT-SHARED THE SAME DUMP AND PORTAL AREA EXTENDED 900', WITH SEVERAL HUNDRED FEET OF CROSSCUTS BELOW THE WEBFOOT WORLSENG'S. THE STANDING ELLS HAS OVER 10,000 OF WORLSINGS, AND IS ONE OF THE MAJOR PRODUCERS OF THE DISTRICT, WITH MOST OF THE INTERMITTENT PRODUCTION SINCE 1908 TO ITS CREDIT. THE ORE OCCURS AS PIPE-ULSE REPLACEMENTS IN MARBELIZED LIMESTONES ALONG PORPHYRY DIKESS AT THEIR
