Comments
Comment (Location): A LITTLE NW OF OLD CONTACCT, NEVADA
Comment (Geology): THE SPORADIC MINERALIZATION SEEMS TO BE A REPLACEMENT OF THE GLASSY QUARTZ BY SILICEOUS RED-BROWN HEMATITE, ASSOCIATED WITH THE SECONDARY COPPER MINERALS (SCHRADER, 1912, P122)
Comment (Deposit): THIS IS ONE OF THE NEVADA-BELLEVUE COPPER MINING COMPANY'S CLAIMS. ALASKITE DIKES CUT THE GRANODIORITE. THE MAIN VEIN IS ABOUT 6 FEET WIDE AND DIPS 50 DEG S., AND CONSISTS LARGELY OF COPPER OXIDES AND CARBONATES IN A QUARTZ GANGUE (SCHRADER, 1935, P25). THE TWO VEINS ON THIS PROPERTY, ABOUT 150 FEET APART AND PARALLEL,ARE REGARDED AS WESTERN EXTENSIONS OF THE PALO ALTO AND BLUE BIRD VEINS. THE PALO ALTO VEIN DIPS ABOUT 70 DEG S, IS ABOUT 1-3 FEET WIDE, AND CONTAINS 5% CU. WITH SOME "KIDNEYS" AS RICH AS 60% CU (SCHRADER, 1912, P 122).
