Satelite View

MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments

Comment (Location): LOCATED A FEW HUNDRED FEET NW OF SILVER CIRCLE MINE

Comment (Development): PATENTED CLAIM

Comment (Deposit): MUCH ORE CONSISTS OF QUARTZ FRAGMENTS CEMENTED BY COPPER OXIDES

Comment (Geology): CHIEF ORE MINERAL IS CHALCOPYRITE IN AN ACTINOLITE-QUARTZ GANGUE ASSOC. WITH SYENITE DIKES.

Comment (Deposit): THIS MINE IS LOCATED ON A MINERALIZED BELT OR LODE 120 FT. WIDE, WHICH SEEMS TO BE A NORTHERLY OFFSHOOT FROM THE MAIN GRANODIORITE CONTACT. IN 1928 100 TONS OF 6% CU ORE CONTAINING 3 OZ/TON AG WAS PRODUCED. THIS LODE IS MINERALOGICALLY SIMILAR TO THE SILVER CIRCLE LODE. THE CHIEF ORE MINERAL, CHALCOPYRITE, IS IN A QUARTZ-ACTINOLITE VEIN. MUCH OF THE ORE CONSISTS OF QUARTZ FRAGMENTS CEMENTED BY COPPER OXIDES (CUPRITE, MELACONITE, MALACHITE) WITH NO TRACE OF HYPOGENE SULFIDES REMAINING. (SCHRADER, 1935, P 32-3). THE RATTLER CLAIM IS PART OF THE GREY COPPER CORPS. UPPER GROUP OF CLAIMS (SCHRADER, 1935) MINERAL SURVEY 4234 ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT

Comment (Production): IN 1928, 100 TONS OF 6% CU ORE WITH 3 OZ/TON AG WAS PRODUCED
