Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comment (Deposit): THIS PROSPECT WAS DISCOVERED IN 1908 BY W.T. MC ARDLE. THE PROPERTY COMPRISES A GROUP OF 6 OR MORE CLAIMS TRENDING NE FOR OVER A MILE. IT IS OPENED BY SEVERAL SHAFTS, THE DEEPEST BEING 45 FEET. THE DEPOSITS ARE REPLACEMENT DEPOSITS IN ASSOCIATION WITH A QUARTZ SYENITE PORPHYRY OR APLITIC DIKE WHICH DIPS 65 NW., AND IS 6 FEET IN MAXIMUM WIDTH. IN PLACES THE SILICIFIED DIKE AND VEIN CROPPINGS STAND BOLDLY FROM 1 TO 8 FT. ABOVE THE GROUND SURFACE. AS EXPOSED BY SHAFTS ON SEVERAL OF THE CLAIMS, THE FOOTWALL SIDE OF THE DIKE SHOWS A VEIN 6 INCHES TO 2 FEET IN WIDTH, COMPOSED OF COPPER CARBONATES, OXIDES, AND CHALCOPYRITE IN A QUARTZ GANGUE. THE ORE ALSO CONTAINS CONSIDERABLE AG; SOME ASSAYS REPORT AS HIGH AS 38 OZ/TON AG (SCHRADER, 1912, P 143). THESE ARE THE ROSE O'CONNELL CLAIMS (SCHRADER, 1935, MAP CLAIM) MAP POINT SELECTED TO MATCH DESCRIPTION IN SCHRADER. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
