Comment (Geology): N-S TRENDING ALASKITE PORPHYRY DIKES ALSO CUT THE PROPERTY. THE TWO OR MORE E-W TRENDING VEINS ARE MORE OR LESS ASSOCIATED WITH PORPHYRY DIKES OR OTHER INTRUSIONS, NEAR WHICH THERE IS A REPORTED IMPROVEMENT IN QUALITY AND QUANITY OF THE ORE. MINERALIZATION SEEMS TO BE BY REPLACEMENT IN A FAULT BRECCIA. THE PRINCIPAL VEIN IS 3 FEET WIDE AND CONTAINS CHIEFLY CERUSITE ORE, WHICH CARRIES UP TO 92 OZ/TON AG. AU OCCURS IN THE BINOXIDE ORE OF THE SMALLER VEIN AND AVERAGES BUT $4 TO THE TON (SCHRADER, 1912, P 134).

Comment (Deposit): MINE IS LOCATED ON A GROUP OF 4 CLAIMS ABOUT 1 MI. NW OF OLD CONTACT, IN THE CANYON ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE EASTERN SPUR OF ELLEN D. MOUNTAIN., 3/4 MI. N OF THE MAIN CONTACT. DEPOSIT WAS LOCATED IN 1887 BY T. GRAY. SMALL PRODUCTION WAS MADE PRIOR TO 1910. MINE WAS IDLE UNTIL 1929-30, WHEN 600 TONS OF ORE WAS SHIPPED. 45 TONS OF THIS ORE NETTED $12.00/TON. ORE AVERAGES 18% PB, 3% ZN, 1.5% AS AND 12 OZ/TON AG, WITH SOME CU. DEPOSIT IS A N-S QUARTZ VEIN 2-5 FT. WIDE. DEPOSIT IS OPENED TO A DEPTH OF 150 FEET (SCHRADER, 1935, P 30-1). ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
