Comment (Workings): 40-FT SHAFT ON CLAIM #2

Comment (Location): 1 1/2 MI. NE OF CHINA MT., HEAD OF ELEVATION

Comment (Geology): THE ORE OCCURS TO SOME EXTENT SPORADICALLY IN THE DIKE ROCK ITSELF, BUT MORE GENERALLY IN AND ASSOCIATED WITH PARALLEL BANDS AND LENSES OF QUARTZ TRAVERSING THE DIKE, SOME OF WHICH ARE 3-4 INCHES WIDE AND ALTERNATE WITH BANDS OF DIKE ROCK. THE DIKE CONSISTS OF 40% ORTHOCLASE, 40% PLAGIOCLASE, 20% QUARTZ.

Comment (Deposit): THIS PROPERTY COMPRISES A GROUP OF SIX OR MORE CLAIMS. IT WAS LOCATED ABOUT 1907. THE PRINCIPAL OPENING IS A 40-FOOT SHAFT ON CLAIM NO. 2 IN A QUARTZ MONZONITE PORPHYRY DIKE WHICH IS OVER 200 FT. IN MAXIMUM WIDTH AND IS SAID TO EXTEND SW TO CHINA MT. AND THE CONTACT. IT SEEMS TO FILL A COMPOUND FISSURE OR SORT OF SHEAR ZONE, AND LOCALLY CONTAINS LENSES, VERTICAL SHEETS OR BANDS OF THE GRANODIORITE. IN THIS SHAFT THE ORE IS OXIDIZED ALL THE WAY DOWN. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
