Comment (Development): MINE WAS DEVELOPED IN 1872 BY THE INGOT MINING CO. BY A 250-FT. ADIT. THE COMPANY HAD A SMELTER NEAR SPRUCEMONT. IN 1873, WHITEHILL REPORTED A 187-FT SHAFT WITH DRIFTS, BUT BY 1913, MOST OF THE WORKINGS WERE CAVED EXCEPT FOR 300 FT. OF A HEAVILY TIMBERED ADIT. THIS WAS ONE OF THE DISTRICT'S EARLIEST PRODUCERS.
