Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. WHEN THE RAILROAD WAS RELOCATED SOME MILES TO THE EAST IN 1903, LEETE ORGANIZED THE EAGLE SALTWORKS RAILROAD CO., AND BUILT A 14.5-MILE STANDARD GAUGE RAILROAD ALONG THE OLD BED FROM FERNLEY TO THE SALT WORKS. IN 1871, AN EFFORT WAS MADE TO OBTAIN BORATE AT THE NORTH END OF THE MARSH.
