Comments
Comment (Location): A TURNOFF ROAD, LESS THAN 1 MILE WEST OF HECKLES, LEADS NORTHWARD ACROSS THE VALLEY FLOOR TO THE BASE OF THE RIDGE, THEN WESTWARD SEVERAL HUNDRED FEET TO A SMALL STREAM. THE PRINCIPAL WORKINGS ARE APPROXIMATELY 1,000 FEET UPSTREAM ON THE EASTERN SLOPE OF THE GULCH.
Comment (Development): TWO ADITS AND A CUT.
Comment (Deposit): THE UPPER ADIT AND A NEARBY CUT GIVE NO INDICATIONS OF MANGANESE MINERALIZATION, EXCEPT IN A SMALL AREA NEAR THE EDGE OF THE OPENCUT. MINERALIZATION APPEARS TO BE LOCALIZED ENTIRELY WITHIN THE ALTERED BASALT. THE ZONE IS 13 FEET LONG, 4 FEET WIDE, AND ABOUT 5 FEET DEEP. ITS GENERAL TREND IS SOUTHWEST.
Comment (Geology): THE PREDOMINANT COUNTRY ROCK ON THE PROPERTY IS ALTERED BASALT, BUT RED SEDIMENTARY ROCK IS PRESENT IN THE SOIL MANTLE AND DETRITUS. THE RED ROCK, ALTHOUGH EXPOSED A SHORT DISTANCE UPSTREAM, IS NOT EXPOSED IN THE IMMEDIATE VICINITY OF THE DEPOSIT.
