Comments

Comment (Production): THE MINE PRODUCED APPROXIMATELY 100,000 OZ AG FROM 1915-1922. HIGH-GRADE ORE CONTAINED AS MUCH AS SEVERAL HUNDRED OZ/TON AG, BUT MILL-RUN ORE AVERAGED ONLY 10 OZ/TON AG. A MILL (CAPACITY 75-TON/DAY) WAS BUILT IN 1920. PRIOR TO 1920, CRUDE ORE WAS SHIPPED TO SMELTERS.

Comment (Geology): THE VEIN IS IN A SHEAR ZONE IN GRANODIORITE OF JURASSIC-CRETACEOUS(?) AGE (RINEHART AND FOX, 1972).

Comment (Deposit): THE MINE WAS DEVELOPED BY AT LEAST 5000 FEET OF UNDERGROUND WORKINGS AND SEVERAL STOPES. THE MAIN ADIT INTERSECTS THE VEIN AT 950 FEET FROM THE PORTAL AND 550 FEET BETNEATH THE OUTCROP. A 75-TON/DAY MILL WAS BUILT AT THE SITE IN 1920 (MOEN, 1976, P. 121). ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
