Comments

Comment (Geology): UPPER LIMIT OF VEIN SYSTEM IS THE GALLATIN DEVELOPMENT HAS BEEN HAMPERED AT DEPTH BY WATER BUT UNDERLYING GROS VENTRE FM. SOURCE OF SPECULATION AS TO ORE CONTENT.

Comment (Workings): DEPOSIT DEVELOPED BY SEVERAL SHAFTS, ADITS AND OPEN CUTS - FOR A LENGTH OF ABOUT 850 M AND A VERTICAL RANGE OF 76 M. WORKINGS BETWEEN THE IRMA & REPUBLIC MINES ARE GROUPED BUT NOT INTERCONNECTED.

Comment (Reserve-Resource): NO ESTIMATE MAY BE MADE BECAUSE OF SPARSE DATA AND GEOLOGIC COMPLEXITY. HIGH GRADE OF ORE PRODUCED INDICATES THAT SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF LOW-GRADE ROCK MAY BE PRESENT AND DISCOVERY OF HIGH GRADE SHOOTS AT DEPTH IN THE GROS VENTRE FM. IS PROBABLE.

Comment (Production): GREATEST PRODUCTION ABOUT 1906-7, 1920-24, 1936-49. SOME ORE MAY HAVE BEEN SHIPPED AFTER 1949. PRODUCTION RECORDS ARE SPARSE AND AMBIGUOUS.

Comment (Deposit): Discovery Year: 1870'S

Comment (Deposit): THE REPUBLIC VEIN WAS THE FIRST VEIN TO BE DISCOVERED IN THE DISTRICT
