Comments
Comment (Workings): MINE ORIGINALLY DEVELOPED BY 270 FT SHAFT WITH SEVERAL LEVELS AND STOPES. ABOUT 1916 A DRAIN TUNNEL WAS PUT IN 600 FT BELOW THE MAMMOTH SHAFT.
Comment (Geology): 700 FT LEVEL MAY BE THE LIMITS FOR HIGH AU ORE BUT THE COPPER MINERAL MAY PERSIST TO LOWER DEPTHS IT MAY EVEN INCREASE DOWNWARDS.
Comment (Location): U.T.M. COORDINATES TAKEN ON SHAFT
Comment (Production): 1896-1918 $200000 AU. PRODUCTION YEARS 1896-99, 1918-21, 1932-50.
Comment (Development): 1896-1899 MILL WAS BUILT IN WASHOE GULCH.
Comment (Deposit): THE VEIN IS JUST E OF A GRANODIORITE-LIMESTONE CONTACT BUT DOES NOT CROSS IT. ANOTHER VEIN FOLLOWING THE CONTACT STRIKES SE AND DIPS EAST. HIGH GRADE OXIDIZED ORE IS REPORTED IN UPPER LEVELS OF BOTH VEINS.
