Comments

Comment (Deposit): THORIUM VEINS IN THIS AREA ARE ONE OF FOUR ENVIRONMENTS OF TH OCCURENCE KNOWN IN THE POWDERHORN-IRON HILL AREA AND ARE PROBABLY RELATED TO EMPLACEMENT OF LATE PRECAMBRIAN SYENITES NORTH AND WEST OF IRON HILL AND OF YOUNGER LATE PRECAMBRIAN OR CAMBRIAN CARBONATITES AT IRON HILL. PRINCIPAL FAULT TRENDING GENERALLY N 73 E DISPLACES POWDERHORN GRANITE ON NW AGAINST DUBOIS SCHIST AND AMPHIBOLITE (CONTAINING NE-TRENDING LAYERS OF FELSIC VOLCANICS AND METASEDIMENTS) ON SE. SMALL BRANCH FAULT TRENDS N 36 E, WITH NE EXTENSION MAPPED AS QUARTZ VEIN. PROSPECTS LOCATED ON QUARTZ VEIN AND AT INTERSECTION OF TWO FAULTS.

Comment (Workings): TWO SURFACE PROSPECT PITS

Comment (Geology): OTHER MINERALS LISTED ABOVE ARE GENERAL OCCURRENCES REPORTED FOR TH VEINS IN AREA; ALL MAY NOT NECESSARILY OCCUR AT THIS SITE.

Comment (Location): ON TOP OF DIVIDE BETWEEN CEBOLLA CREEK AND GOOSE CREEK 1.45 MILE SE OF DUBOIS MINE. ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :1975
