Comments
Comment (Location): UNSURVEYED. BY BLACK AND WHITE LAKES ON DIVIDE EAST OF NORTH FORK SKOKOMISH RIVER. ON WEST SLOPE OF MOUNT GLADYS.
Comment (Development): ORIGINALLY STAKED AS A COPPER CLAIM IN 1907. MN WAS RECOGNIZED IN 1918
Comment (Deposit): 3 LENSES OF MN SILICATES FOUND ALONG ALTERED BASALT-SANDSTONE CONTACT. ORE EXPOSED OVER 1,080 SQUARE FOOT AREA. ATTITUDE GIVEN IS OF HOST ROCK. MINERAL ASSEMBLAGE AND ELEMENT ANALYSES MAY SUGGEST TWO SEPARATE DEPOSIT TYPES, ONE OF WHICH IS VOLCANOGENIC MN AND THE OTHER OF WHICH IS UNKNOWN, BUT POSSIBLY CYPRUS-TYPE MASSIVE SULFIDE.
Comment (Workings): ADIT, SHAFT, SEVERAL CUTS AND PITS
Comment (Geology): HOST ROCK UNITS ARE UNNAMED. MAIN COUNTRY ROCKS IN AREA ARE ALTERED BASALTS AND MARINE SEDIMENTARY ROCKS. NO RED LIMESTONE WAS SEEN NEAR ORE, BUT IT IS PRESENT IN SAME STRATIGRAPHIC HORIZON A SHORT DISTANCE TO THE NORTHEAST.
