Comment (Deposit): TUNNEL DRIVEN EAST INTO EAST MARGIN OF CASTLE CREEK FAULT ZONE, PASSING THRU MAROON AND BELDEN FMS AND ENCOUNTERING CRUSHED ZONE OF SHALE AND PORPHYRY IN HANGING WALL OF APLITE PORPHYRY SILL. BELDEN FM FOUND ON OTHER (EAST) SIDE OF SILL, FOLLOWED BY SILICIFIED LIMESTONE (CASTLE BUTTE MBR) IN FAULT CONTACT (CASTLE CREEK FAULT) WITH PRECAMBRIAN QUARTZ MONZONITE. SILL APPEARS TO BE BOUNDED BY FAULTS ON BOTH SIDES, ON WEST BY ANNIE FAULT AND ON EAST BY DUBUQUE FAULT. BEDDING AND FAULTS DIP VERTICAL TO STEEPLY WEST. MAIN ORE FOUND IN SILICIFIED LIMESTONE NEXT TO QUARTZ MONZONITE. LOWER GRADE ORE FOUND AT FAULT CONTACT BETWEEN BELDEN AND MAROON FMS AND FARTHER WEST IN MAROON LIMESTONE.
