Comment (Deposit): Discovery Year: 1897-1921
Comment (Location): NORTH OF NORTH CHEYENNE CANYON ALONG HIGH DRIVE. ELEV AND LAT-LONG GIVEN ARE FOR CENTER W2 SEC. 28. ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1981)
Comment (Deposit): NO DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF DISTRICT OR CLAIMS AVAILABLE, BUT COULD BE NORTHWARD EXTENSION OF CHEYENNE OR ST. PETERS DOME DISTRICT. COUNTRY ROCK OF PIKES PEAK GRANITE INTRUDED BY SMALL SATELLITE STOCKS AND PLUGS OF MT ROSA GRANITE AND FAYALITE GRANITE (SCOTT AND WOBUS, 1973) AND BY LATE PRECAMBRIAN NORTH-TO NNW-TRENDING RIEBECKITE SYENITE LAMPROPHYRE DIKES CONTAINING ACCESSORY MAGNETITE, FLUORITE, AND SPHENE (PROBABLY SIMILAR TO THOSE TO SOUTH IN ST. PETERS DOME AREA). IF SIMILAR TO ST. PETERS DOME, QUARTZ-FLUORITE VEINS COULD CONTAIN AG AND BASE-METAL SULFIDES, BUT THIS IS INCONFIRMED. EPITHERMAL VEIN DEPOSITION POSSIBLY CONTROLLED BY TERTIARY (?) NORTH-TRENDING EN ECHELON FAULTING AND SHEARING.
