Comment (Geology): OTHER MINERALS LISTED ABOVE ARE GENERAL OCCURENCES REPORTED FOR TH VEINS IN AREA; ALL MAY NOT NECESSARILY OCCUR AT THIS SITE.

Comment (Location): PROSPECTS LIE ON VEIN THAT CROSSES HEADS OF THREE UNNAMED TRIBUTARIES OF LAKE FORK GUNNISON RIVER 1.5 TO 1.75 SW OF DUBOIS MINE. ELEV AND LAT-LONG GIVEN ARE FOR CENTRALLY LOCATED PROSPECT IN NW SE NE NE SEC. 09. ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :1975

Comment (Deposit): THORIUM VEINS IN THIS AREA ARE ONE OF FOUR ENVIRONMENTS OF TH OCCURRENCE KNOWN IN THE POWDERHORN-IRON HILL AREA AND ARE PROBABLY RELATED TO EMPLACEMENT OF LATE PRECAMBRIAN SYENITES NORTH AND WEST OF IRON HILL AND OF YOUNGER LATE PRECAMBRIAN OR CAMBRIAN CARBONATITES AT IRON HILL. FOLIATION OF DUBOIS GREENSTONE COUNTRY ROCK TRENDS GENERALLY N 45 TO 65 E, 60 TO 80 SE. CUTTING ACROSS FOLIATION IS PROMINENT QUARTZ VEIN TRENDING N 37 W, DIPPING 80 SW AT NW END. VEIN APPARENTLY TERMINATES ON NW END AT GENERALLY N 40 E-TRENDING FAULT THAT DISPLACES POWDERHORN GRANITE AND OLIGOCENE TUFF ON NW AGAINST DUBOIS GREENSTONE ON SE. PROTION OFVEIN IS COVERED BY OLIGOCENE TUFF. SMALL MELASYENITE BODY LIES NEAR SE END OF VEIN.

Comment (Workings): EIGHT SURFACE PROSPECT PITS
