Comments
Comment (Deposit): BETWEEN RIMS OF UNCOMPAHGRE AND LAKE CITY CALDERAS, DEPOSIT LIES IN INFILL SEQUENCE COMPOSED OF EUREKA MEMBER RHYOLITE OVERLYING AND PROBABLY INTERBEDDED WITH CALDERA COLLAPSE BRECCIA, CONSISTING OF CHAOTIC MASSES OF PRECALDERA INTERMEDIATE-COMPOSITION ROCKS INTERPRETED TO BE REULT OF SLUMPING FROM OVERSTEEPENED CALDERA WALLS DURING INITIAL SUBSIDENCE. DEPOSIT APPEARS TO BE TRANSVERSE VEIN LOCATED IN SLACK'S (1980) QUARTZ/BASE-METAL ASSEMBLAGE, OUTER CARBONATE-TETRAHEDRITE ZONE AND IS CHARACTERIZED BY MASSIVE ORE-STAGE CARBONATE--CALCITE IN CONTRAST TO RHODOCHROSITE COMMON AT MINES IN INNER ZONES.
Comment (Location): CLAIM LIES ABOVE UNNAMED TRIBUTARY OF NELLIE CREEK ABOUT ONE MILE ABOVE CONFLUENCE WITH HENSON CREEK. ELEV AND LAT-LONG GIVEN ARE FOR OPEN CUT SHOWN ON STEVEN AND OTHERS (1977) MAP. ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :1977
Comment (Workings): EXPLORATORY TRENCH AND OPEN CUTS.
