Comments

Comment (Location): HIGH ON THE EAST SLOPE OF IRON MOUNTAIN, WHICH DIVIDES THE BRANCHES OF COPPER CREEK. FROM THE CONFLUENCE OF THE DUNGENESS AND GRAYWOLF RIVERS THE DEPOSITS ARE REACHED BY 15 MILES OF TRAIL. THE TRAIL LEADS SOUTH ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE DUNGENESS RIVER, THENCE UP ITS TRIBUTARY, COPPER CREEK. FOR THE LAST 2 MILES SLIDES AND PRECIPITOUS SLOPES MAKE ACCESS VERY DIFFICULT. THE DEPOSITS ARE ABOVE TIMBERLINE ON THE SLOPES OF IRON MOUNTAIN

Comment (Development): AN OLD ADIT, ABOUT 2,300 FEET LONG.

Comment (Deposit): MANGANESE ZONES ARE IN THE FORM OF NUMEROUS NARROW LENSES WITHIN RED LIMESTONE OR ALONG THE CONTACT BETWEEN LIMESTONE AND PILLOW BASALT. LENS FORM PRACTICALLY A CONTINUOUS OUTCROP FOR 1500 FT.

Comment (Workings): 2300 FT TUNNEL

Comment (Geology): THE PRINCIPAL COUNTRY ROCKS IN THE AREA ARE PILLOW BASALT AND RED LIMESTONE; THE LATTER PREDOMINATES.

Comment (Deposit): 11 PATENTED CLAIMS. APPROXIMATELY 450000 TONS OF ORE. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
