Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Deposit): NO PRODUCTION OF TUNGSTEN HAS BEEN OFFICIALLY RECORDED. THE BATHOLITH MINE IS JUST SOUTHWEST OF COON CREEK SUMMIT ON THE CHARLESTON-JARBIDGE ROAD. SOME SCHEELITE HAS BEEN PRODUCED FROM THE OPEN PITS THAT MAKE UP THE MINE. MOLYBDENITE & POMELLITE OCCUR WITH SCHEELITE IN TACTITIZED LIMESTONE IN CONTACT WITH QUARTZ MONZONITE. IT IS NOT CLEAR WHETHER THE QUARTZ MONZONITE IS PART OF THE COFFEEPOT STOCK OR AN OUTLIER, AS MUCH OF THE AREA IS COVERED BY GLACIAL DEBRIS. ; INFO.SRC : 2 UNPUB REPT

Comment (Workings): OPEN PITS
Comment (Geology): SCHEELITE OCCURS W/POWELLITE & MOLYBDENITE IN A CONTACT METASOMATIC DEPOSIT.
