Comment (Location): ALONG THE UPPER PORTION OF NINE MILE CREEK BETWEEN BURNT AND SOLDIER CREEKS.

Comment (Development): A DRAG LINE DREDGE WAS ASSEMBLED ON THE PLACER IN 1940 . IT OPERATED INTERMITTENTLY UNTIL 1942 WHEN OPERATIONS WERE SUSPENDED DUE TO WWII. INTERMITTENT OPERATION WAS RESUMED IN 1946 BUT WAS NOT CONTINUED IN 1947 .

Comment (Deposit): GOLD BEARING GRAVELS OF NINE MILE CREEK ARE REPORTED TO BE EITHER GLACIAL TILL OR MORAINE.

Comment (Production): IN 1940 GRAVEL AVERAGED 23 CENTS PER CUBIC YD. OPERATIONS ON THE HOUSUM, JOSEPHINE CREEK AND MCCORMICK CREEK PLACERS IN 1941 RECOVERED A TOTAL OF 1696 FINE OZ AU.
