Comments

Comment (Production): ROBY (1951) ESTIMATES CUMULATIVE PRODUCTION AS 18-20,000,000 LB PB AND 615,000 TOZ AG BUT DISTRICT PRODUCTION 1883-1964 WAS ABOUT 30,000,000 LB PB AND 4,000,000 TOZ AG WITH AT LEAST 15,000,000 PB CREDITED TO OTHER PROPERTIES. AVAILABLE RECORDS SUGGEST THAT AG PRODUCTION WAS STRESSED. PROD. YEARS 1888 - 1897 & 1943 - 1961

Comment (Development): IN 1891 CUMBERLAND MINE WAS LARGEST SINGLE PRODUCER OF LEAD ORE IN MONTANA ; ECON.COM: MINE CEASED OPERATIONS AFTER 1894 SILVER PANIC AND REMAINED INACTIVE UNTIL THE LATE 1950'S WITH INCREASED METAL PRICES AFTER KOREAN WAR.

Comment (Reserve-Resource): BASED ON CROSS-SECTION, AN ESTIMATED 50,000 ST HAVE BEEN STOPED, AND AN ESTIMATED 50,000 ST MINERALIZED GROUND REMAINS BETWEEN THE 500 AND 750 LEVELS. RICHNESS OF ORE DECREASED SHARPLY BELOW 500 LEVEL. ESTIMATE INCLUDES ORE MINED SINCE 1964 BUT AMOUNT OF PRODUCTION IS NOT KNOWN.
