Comments

Comment (Workings): SINCE DISCOVERY, GOLD HAS BEEN RECOVERED AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER BY ALMOST EVERY METHOD GENERALLY USED IN THIS COUNTRY.

Comment (Location): APPROX LOCATION, WHERE OREGON GULCH INTERSECTS CEDAR CREEK

Comment (Production): IT HAS BEEN VARIOUSLY ESTIMATED THAT PLACER MINES FROM 1867 - 1947 YIELDED AS MUCH AS $10000000 AND AS LITTLE AS LESS THAN $2000000 ALONG CEDAR CREEK AND ITS TRIBUTARIES. YIELDS IN 1875 WERE REPORTED TO BE AS HIGH AS $6.00/YD.

Comment (Deposit): MOST IMPORTANT TRIBUTARY OF CEDAR CREEK IS OREGON GULCH ALONG WHICH MANY PLACER CLAIMS ARE INTERMITTENTLY ACTIVE. A SMALLER TRIBUTARY, SNOWSHOE GULCH, HAS ALSO BEEN INTERMITTENTLY ACTIVE. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT

Comment (Deposit): PLACER GOLD HAS EXHIBITED EXTREME PURITY. SOME 0.982 FINE GOLD HAS BEEN RECOVERED AND IT IS NOT UNUSUAL FOR THE GOLD TO BE 0.960 TO 0.970 FINE. PLACERS WITHIN CEDAR CREEK DISTRICT ARE INTIMATELY ASSOCIATED WITH NEARBY LODE DEPOSITS.
