Comments

Comment (Location): Political location in record is Beaverhead county. However, original lat/long plots 6 km inside adjacent Madison county. Original coordinates were: lat/long NAD27 45-36-22N 112-36-22W (45.6061 -112.6061); UTM N5051322 E374752 Z12N; PLSS line# 1: Meridian- Montana Principal, TWNSHP 003 S, RNG 011 W, Sect 03, Sect_fract . PLSS coordinates are in Beaverhead county, 20 minutes west of the original lat/long. The reporter likely mis-typed the the longitude minutes as 36 instead of 56. The latitude minutes is 36, the likely source of the error. Extensive workings are visible in Google Earth at -112 56, so lat/long was adjusted 20 minutes west to agree with the PLSS location.
