Comment (Production): REDMON (1961) REPORTS THAT 1,300 POUNDS OF BERYL WAS SOLD TO THE G.S.A. IN CUSTER, S.D. AND THE REMAINDER WAS RETAINED FOR SPECIMENS.

Comment (Development): MR. RIVERS PRODUCED 1500 POUNDS OF BERYL IN 1957.

Comment (Deposit): PEGMATITE POORLY EXPOSED, BUT IS TRACEABLE FOR 60 FEET ALONG THE STRIKE.

Comment (Workings): FACE DEPTH OF WORKINGS IS 15 FT.

Comment (Geology): A 4-FOOT-WIDE MASSIVE WHITE QUARTZ CORE IS BOUNDED ON EACH SIDE BY 3-FOOT-WIDE ZONES OF FRACTURED AND WEATHERED FELDSPARS. PALE-GREEN EUHEDRAL BERYL IS FOUND WITH THE FELDSPAR ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE QUARTZ CORE.
