Comments

Comment (Location): ABOUT 0.5 MI NE OF PAUPER MT. ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1954)

Comment (Workings): SHAFTS AND TUNNELS

Comment (Location): Political location in record is Lewis and Clark county. However, lat/long falls a few meters inside adjacent Jefferson county. Relative position description 1/4 MI. W OF PAUPERS DREAM MINE places it in Lewis and Clark county. This description conflicts with location comment ABOUT 0.5 MI NE OF PAUPER MT, which places it much further NE and even farther into Lewis and Clark county, half way to the Porphyry Dike mine. Also conflicting is the location of a duplicate record, 10221776, which lies in Jefferson county, due west of the Basin Creek mine, SE of Paupers Mtn, very close to the peak. The county boundary in the topo map differs significantly from GE and County100 coverage. In view of conflicting evidence and the proximity to the county line, coordinates were left in Jefferson county, and Jefferson county was added to the record and promoted to first place. Original coordinates were unchanged at: lat/long NAD27 46-25-17N 112-17-47W (46.42139 -112.29639); UTM N E Z; PLSS line# 1: Meridian- Montana Principal, TWNSHP 008N, RNG 006W, Sect 25, Sect_fract NE OF NW.
