This district is in the eastern San Bernardino Mountains. There are a number of small lode-gold mines and prospects, most of which have been idle for many years. The deposits are shallow and consist of narrow quartz veins containing free gold, often abundant sulfides, and scheelite. Country rock is granite, limestone, and schist.
