Comment (Production): (1) PRODUCTION YEARS NOT GIVEN. PROBABLY TOTAL PRODUCTION SINCE 1928. FROM 1916-1919 HANOVER COPPER CO. SHIPPED 20 TO 30% ZN ORE, MOSTLY CARBONATE. REOPENED 1928 BY PERU MINING CO. AND OPERATED AT LEAST PART OF EVERY YEAR UP TO DECEMBER 23, 1952. PRODUCED AGAIN 1960-1961. FROM 10/15/1938 TO 1/1/1940 0PERATED UNDER LEASE BY CALLAHON ZINC-LEAD.

Comment (Development): ECON.COM: ORE MILLED AT PERU MINING CO. NO. 1 MILL, WEMPLE (DEMING) NM

Comment (Location): ACCURATE LOCATION IS FOR THE MAIN SHAFT AS SHOWN ON THE SANTA RITA TOPOGRAPHIC QUADRANGLE.

Comment (Deposit): ORE BODIES ARE HORIZONTAL POD-LIKE FORMS AS MUCH AS 12 M IN DIAMETER AND 180 M LONG ENCLOSED IN LAKE VALLEY LIMESTONE AND FURTHER CONTROLLED BY VERTICAL FISSURES AND THRUST FAULTS AT SOUTHEAST MARGIN OF FIERRO-HANOVER STOCK. FOUR PATENTED CLAIMS MINERAL SURVEY NUMBER 1463 COVERING 66.68 ACRES. ORIGINAL PROPERTY (1916) HAD 18 CLAIMS.

Comment (Workings): WORKINGS REPORTED TO CONSIST OF A MAIN SHAFT ABOUT 600 FT. DEEP AND EXTENSIVE UNDERGROUND DEVELOPMENT ON FIVE DIFFERENT LEVELS.
