Comment (Workings): WORKINGS CONSIST OF A 600-FT, TWO-COMPARTMENT SHAFT AND APPROXIMATELY 2800 FEET OF DRIFTS, CROSSCUTS AND RAISES. SEVERAL DEEP, CLOSELY SPACED PITS ARE ON THE SURFACE FOLLOWING THE VEIN. WATER HAS FLOODED THE MINE BELOW 150-FOOT DEPTH.

Comment (Deposit): THE DEPOSIT IS A WELL-DEFINED SHEAR-ZONE VEIN WITH SEVERAL GOOD WALLS DISTRIBUTED WITHIN A WIDTH OF ABOUT 15 FEET. THE ORE IS OXIDIZED DOWN TO THE WATER LEVEL, SULFIDE ORE OCCURRED BELOW THE WATER LEVEL. ZINC ORES ARE SAID TO PREVAIL AT DEPTH.

Comment (Development): THE CASH ENTRY IS ONE OF THE EARLIEST LOCATIONS IN THE DISTRICT. THE EXACT DISCOVERER IS UNKNOWN.

Comment (Production): DISBROW STATES: "THE CASH ENTRY MINE HAS BEEN ONE OF THE MOST PRODUCTIVE MINES IN THE DISTRICT. ACCORDING TO JOHN W. BEARD, THE PRESENT OWNER, ABOUT 500 TONS OF RICH SILVER ORE, WITH VALUES IN GOLD AND COPPER, WAS PRODUCED IN 1886, AND 4500 TONS OF LEAD-ZINC ORE WAS PRODUCED IN 1890-1903. DURING THE PERIOD 1909-1952 ABOUT 9000 TONS OF LEAD-ZINC ORE WAS MINED FROM THE CASH ENTRY, GRAND CENTRAL, FRANKLIN, AND OTHER NEARBY PROPERTIES." (1957, P. 59)
