Comment (Production): PRODUCTION FIGURES INCLUDE BOSTON HILL EAST MINES PRODUCTION

Comment (Development): EXPLORED IN LATE 1800'S FOR SILVER, WITH SOME PRODUCTION AS EARLY AS 1883. PRINCIPAL PRODUCTION BEGAN IN 1916 AND HAS CONTINUED WITH SOME INTERRUPTIONS TO PRESENT (1980). SINCE 1937 ALL MINING HAS BEEN FROM OPEN PITS.

Comment (Commodity): PRIMARY ORE CONTAINS HEMATITE, MAGNETITE, MESITITE (FERROAN-MANGANOAN MAGNESITE) AND MINOR BASE-METAL SULFIDES.

Comment (Workings): ORE MINED FROM HUNDREDS OF OPEN PITS, OPEN CUTS, TRENCHES, AND SHALLOW UNDERGROUND WORKINGS IN A 2.5 SQUARE KM. AREA. ONE OF THE LARGER PITS, THE COMANCHE PIT FOLLOWS THE FIERRO FAULT 2000 FEET AND IS UP TO 250 FEET WIDE AND 320 FEET DEEP.

Comment (Deposit): SUPERGENE ENRICHMENT BODIES ALONG FRACTURES, IN BRECCIATED ROCKS, AND IN PERMEABLE BEDS IN ORDOVICIAN MONTOYA AND EL PASO DOLOMITES CUT BY NE-TRENDING FAULTS ALONG WEST SIDE OF SILVER CITY STOCK. ORE BODIES OCCUR ONLY ABOVE THE WATER TABLE WHICH IS GENERALLY LESS THAN 60 M. DEEP.
