Comments

Comment (Development): THE UTAH GEOL. & MIN. SURVEY HAS THE ORIGINAL REPORT OF GUY CRANE IN ITS FILES. THE REPORT CONTAINS MINE MAPS, SURVEYS, GEOLOGY REPORTS OF OTHER GEOLOGISTS, ASSAYS AND OTHER INFORMATION.

Comment (Workings): MINE WORKINGS CONSIST OF A LOWER TUNNEL ABOUT 720 FT LONG, AN UPPER TUNNEL ABOUT 300 FT LONG & AN INCLINE STOPE EXTENDING SW ABOUT 350 FT MAKING CONNECTION WITH BOTH LOWER & UPPER TUNNEL LEVELS. THE UPPER TUNNEL IS 92 FT BELOW THE SURFACE, AND THE LOWER TUNNEL IS 165 FT BELOW UPPER TUNNEL.

Comment (Commodity): TYPICAL ORE CONSISTS OF CRYSTALIZED CALCITE MATRIX ENCLOSING BOULDERS OF DENSE DARK SILICIOUS AU-CU ORE TOGETHER WITH ANGULAR BOULDERS OF LS AND A FEW ROUNDED PEBLES OF PROSPECT MTN QUARTZITE. BEST AU VALUES ARE FOUND IN THE DARK SILICIOUS BOULDERS WITH CALCITE MATRIX.

Comment (Production): GOLD-COPPER ORE IN ITEM #8 WAS SHIPPED TO LEAMINGTON. IT IS REPORTED THAN NO ORE CONTAINING LESS THAN 1 OZ OF AU WAS SHIPPED BECAUSE OF HIGH TRANSPORTATION CHARGES AND THAT $100-200 ORE WAS COMMON PRODUCTION YEARS: 1895, 1904, 1909-1917, 1934-1951. ELEVEN CAR LOADS IN 1901. THE CARLOADS GAVE $22.50 IN AU, 2.45 OZ AG, AND 2.4% CU, UP TO $39.20 IN AU, 4.5 OZ AG, & 14.5% CU GROSSING $32.40 TO $45.38/TON. AT 1979 PRICES IT WOULD GROSS $2500/TON

Comment (Reserve-Resource): ESTIMATED 100,000 TONS OF ORE IN LOWER WORKINGS

Comment (Location): SECTION SUBDIVISIONS NW 1/4 SW 1/4 NW 1/4 THE IBEX IS IMPROPERLY MARKED ON TOPO MAP.
