Comments

Comment (Location): LOCATED NEXT TO EAST VERDE RIVER. INFO FROM LAND.ST :01; 41 (1979)

Comment (Development): OPERATORS INCLUDED GOWAN, B. C. TAYLOR, 11 PATENTED CLAIMS, THREE UNPATENTED AND MILL SITE.

Comment (Workings): APPROXIMATELY 800 FEET OF TUNNELS, APPROXIMATELY 250 FT OF SHAFTS, ALSO CONSIDERABLE STOPES AND RAISES.

Comment (Geology): TAPEATS SANDSTONE (CAMB) OVERLIES DEPOSIT. WILSON MAPS BOTH OVERLYING SYCAMORE CREEK SANDSTONE (DEV), AND REDWALL LIMESTONE (CARBONIFEROUS). NO RECENT DETAILED MAPPING, SEE CONWAY, 1976, FOR REGIONAL GEOLOGY NO MINERALIZATION IN OVERLYING SEDIMENTS. FAULT ASSOCIATED WITH DEPOSIT CUTS SEDIMENTS, BUT IT IS STILL POSSIBLE THAT MINERALIZATION WAS PRECAMBRIAN AND FAULT WAS A REACTIVATION OF A PRECAMBRIAN NW-TRENDING SHEAR. THIS IS THE ONLY MINE IN THE COUNTY AT WHICH THERE IS POSSIBLE EVIDENCE FOR POST PRECAMBRIAN MINERALIZATION.
